The museum's collection of Ukrainian handicrafts includes traditional items of wear from various regions of Ukraine and Canada; rushnyky (ritual cloths); kilims; and a variety of richly embroidered and woven textiles reflecting a diversity of technique and design.

A large part of these holdings comes from two important donations, one by the Alexiewich family of Calgary and the other by Natalie Kyforuk of  Edmonton. This unique collection also includes ceramics, metalwork, beaded jewellery, decorative wooden and straw artifacts, and an outstanding assortment of Ukrainian Easter eggs (pysanky).
