LEGENDS OF TIME: Exhibition of Paintings by Oleh Nedoshytko

TORONTO, ON —The Taras Shevchenko Museum is pleased to announce Legends of Time –an exhibition and sale of paintings by the Ukrainian artist, Oleh Nedoshytko, who will introduce over 20 of his recent works.  Opening with a reception on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 2:30 to 5:30 PM, the exhibition will run until May 24. This marks the artist’s fourth solo show in Canada.

Through a unique application of paint and colour, Oleh Nedoshytko’s canvases explore his inner spiritual world and experiences rather than the realm of the physical. Landscape silences alternating with bursts of life express changing moods within the paintings, and appeal to deep emotions and energy within the viewer’s psyche.

Born in Odesa, Ukraine, Oleh Nedoshytko studied painting at the Odesa National Ushynsky Pedagogical Institute where he held the position of associate professor for 30 years. His paintings have been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout Ukraine, Russia, Europe, Canada, and the USA. Presently, Oleh lives and works in Toronto.

Celebrating its sixty‐sixth year of activity, the Shevchenko Museum organizes projects and exhibitions with the purpose of supporting contemporary Ukrainian Canadian artists in their efforts to popularise their culture and heritage in Canada.
